Episode 25: Life is like Advertising


In advertising, 50% of the ads get 100% of the profits. However, we don't know what that 50% is...so you just have to do the whole lot the entire time.
Life is no different. You have to keep going at what you're doing if you want to be successful. You have to kiss all the frogs until one poofs into a prince. It may be the 82nd, the 412th, you never know, but if you want that prince, you'll just have to keep kissing.

There are two kinds of worrying, the kind you can control and the kind that is just a waste of yo ur time. If its a worry that you can do something about, like losing weight or helping your kids, then there are three steps: get advice, get information, do something! If it's a worry that you can change, like growing old, you have to let it go. You will just frustrate yourself.

Risks are scary. They're pushing you out of your comfort zone and, if you don't succeed, you could get hurt physically or emotionally. To take risks safely you have to take responsibility for your actions, have a clear goal, review your potential losses, baby step to a big goal and then just act! You'll prepared and excited to take the plunge!

When you give criticism and feedback there are a few tips that you should follow as to not appear like you're insulting your friend. Make sure your critique is specific so the person knows what they can change. It should be about something they can change, otherwise it's just insulting. Always praise successes and appear confident.

Episode 19: Visualize Others Differently


Humans are conditioned to respond to certain situations in certain ways: we hear a strange noise and our heart rate jumps and get hyper-vigilant. However, we condition ourself. If, in your mind, boss=anxiety, mother-in-law=depression, etc. then you will feel that way when you see, hear or think about them. Break the connection and think of them as a baby, an old person, a clown, or something funny to you. After a while, that conditioning will begin to break down and you can live life a little less stressed out!
